Classic Kitchen in a Victorian-style home

Beautiful renovated kitchen with all the modern conveniences and classic design. This 1800s Victorian style home boasts a stunning new kitchen remodel. From the painted maple cabinets with period styling to the enormous pantry storage space, this gorgeous kitchen has everything.

The glass front hutch was designed to mimic a classic hutch style and to showcase the homeowners antique dishes. Teapots and teacups that had been previously hidden and collected by the home owner now on display for her to enjoy.

Not just beautiful this very functional space offers a flexible island space that can be separated. The homeowners love to cook and entertain so the island and counter can be together or can be separated to use as serving spaces.

Cherry kitchen with copper accents

Now a bright, spacious room with a layout conducive to cooking and entertaining, this expanded kitchen meets the homeowners' wishes for a more open space.

Before the remodel, the kitchen had 1980s laminate countertops and oak cabinets, as well as outdated appliances and inefficient lighting. A peninsula enclosed a narrow cooking area and a wall separated a small room and sliding door to the deck from the kitchen. This wall was taken down to enlarge the kitchen, allowing for a more open floor plan.

Instead of a peninsula, the kitchen now has a large island, providing more counter space for cooking and dining. At the end of the room - which was previously separated by a wall - a bar area (featuring a wine fridge) was added.

This kitchen remodel features cherry transitional cabinets from Showplace, Cambria countertops, travertine wall tile with copper accents, stainless steel appliances, oil rubbed bronze hardware and new lighting. The room was brightened by adding more natural light and recessed, under cabinet, and pendant lights.

An adjoining dining area (not shown in these photos) was painted and updated to enhance the flow between the rooms. Ceramic tile in the kitchen was replaced with hardwood flooring to match the hardwood flooring in this dining room.

The end result of this remodel is a kitchen with more storage, better lighting, a more efficient and aesthetically pleasing layout, and happy homeowners.

Functional kitchen remodel for a busy family

This award-winning kitchen remodel features black cabinetry, gorgeous granite coutertops with Ogee edge and loads of working space. The client, who loves to entertain, also has three active teenagers. To create a functional space where the family can gather, we moved the refrigerator away from the microwave and cooking are so that the kids could come in and get snacks and take care of themselves without interupting the cooking.

Previously, the space had a peninsula which was too high to see the dining table. The island/peninsula before had no seating and it seperated the two rooms, so we brought it down to counter height so people could talk over the island. This also added additional counter space.

Not shown: The space also boasts a huge pantry and custom file drawers so that the kitchen also functions as an office space.

Nineteenth Century Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel

CotY Award Winning KItchen

This kitchen project was extremely rewarding for us. There are two chefs in this family home, so the kitchen is designed to allow them to both work in the kitchen at the same time. Originally the space was two rooms - kitchen and family room divided with a half wall - and the working area of the kitchen was very small. The clients desire for their 1800s farmhouse was to give them a more efficient kitchen with more space and more storage with period style but modern convenience.

The kitchen includes simple cabinet style with a farmhouse sink. There is also a work/office area in the kitchen with the shape desk top mimicking the shape of the island and allows a work-at-home mom to be in the mix of the family while working.

A fantastic working kitchen, it offers two separate ovens and sinks allowing for both chefs to cook. The kitchen also features two refriegerators and a refrigerated drawer on the main island for kids' drinks.

The window over the main sink was brought down to counter height and extended with a bay, allowing the homeowners to see the pool from the deck. This change allows them to serve the kids and guests by the pool through the window.

Ultimately, the project really made the kitchen space work in perfect harmony with the lifestyle of this family, who was very happy with the results.

Kitchen Remodel Suited for Several Cooks

This very large kitchen addition was built for a family with three boys and homeowners who love to cook. They have large family events want to be together while cooking but not stepping on each other so the enormous counterspace accomodates several cooks and the large kitchen area accomodates guests. Cherry cabinets, granite countertops, and an oversized island can be used for dining. The seating at the island provides a space for the boys to do homework and have snacks while mom prepares dinner.

Spacious Kitchen Remodel

This project was an open spacious kitchen with a custom curved granite countertop. The kitchen had been very dated and needed to be modernized and enlarged, while offering seamless integration with oversized dining area. Features include a tall, custom wine rack next to the refrigerator, a snack bar customized to the counter top with a radius curve, and seating allowing the kids to snack, as well as additional storage underneath.

Remodel of a Three-Story Victorian Home

A complete remodel of a three-story Victorian home, this project included three full and one half bathrooms, a new kitchen and a two-story octoganal addition.

For this period-style home, it was important to replicate the original woodwork. Unique spaces abound, including the bathrooms with dormers and small spaces. The result was modern convenience with an aesthetic that was consistent with the period style that the homeowners valued.

Basement Remodel

The goal of the project was to create a family-friendly and practical use of the basement for activities ranging from exercise to entertaining to relaxing. In order for the space to be most inviting, we created a very light and open plan incorporating light colors. Lots of creative storage spaces - including built-in bookshelves and closet space - were added into the room.

The end result is a space that is functional and is welcoming and well-lit for entertaining, exercise, and family movie nights.

Kitchen Remodel on a Moderate Budget

This kitchen has wonderful storage and special custom features, including an extra long granite-top island and a custom wine rack built-in above the refrigerator. The client, in order to keep to a moderate budget, elected to use granite on the island, laminate on the perimeter, and chose oak cabinets. In this family, both the husband and wife love to cook and their new kitchen provides ample space, allowing them to work together.
