What are your services and service area?
For homeowners and for architects, we specialize in whole house remodels, additions, kitchens, master bedroom suites, attics and basements, as well as bathrooms and more.
Our service area includes the towns of Arlington, Concord, Lincoln, Melrose, Needham, Newton, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Watertown, Wellesley, Winchester, and Woburn. Occasionally, we do projects in other towns north and west of Boston.
Our Showroom products and services are for homeowners and contractors, as well, serving the greater Boston area.
Why should I consider your Design/Build approach?
When you have one company accountable for your entire project—start to finish—you can count on it being a success in every way. Our approach has you working with a designer, production manager, and professional builders who know what they are doing, and know what you want out of the project.
If you are an architect, or a homeowner that has detailed plans and are ready to build, our team will work with you to the completion of your project.
Having us as your one source increases accountability and good communication. With our thorough approach, you’ll experience the project as an exciting and well-run effort.
We start with a meeting to discuss your dreams, ideas, wants, and needs. We will then sign a Design Agreement to work together to scope and cost the project within your budget.
The next step is Preliminary Design, which includes drawings, a walk-through by various trade contractors and a presentation of the plans to the homeowner.
Once the plans are approved, we will move into the final phase of design, Construction Documentation. This stage includes the completion of final plans, written specifications and a signed comprehensive written contract including a firm price with start and completion dates for construction.

Yes, we are happy to work with you and your architect. Our team approach can add value in the planning process at any stage. Yet, hiring us in the early stages can enable your designer or architect to benefit from our insight throughout the entire planning process.
I’m a contractor in need of kitchen cabinets, what options do you offer?
We feature and have on displaythree brands of cabinets that are crafted with the utmost quality and care: Showplace Wood Products, Kitchen Kraft and Marsh Furniture Company. We also have acess to and can offer several other brands.
We provide you and your clients with design services, installation-only services, as well as anything you need from our A-to-Z kitchen remodeling services.
We use proven management techniques that keep our jobs on time. We will review the initial schedule with you and keep you informed of any changes and prepare you for what will come next. Although most of our projects are completed on time, changes to the scope of work and weather can impact the timeliness of your project.
Yes. Whatever type of design you desire, and whatever the project, from whole house remodels, additions, master bedroom suites, to kitchen and bath remodels, we handle every detail. Included in our services are the development of plans and working through the permitting process.
Cathy Doucet is your partner for all of the ideas, materials, colors, and options for you and your home. She provides guidance that ensures the result will be aesthetically pleasing and cost effective.
You will get the best value with us. “Price shopping” is risky because not all remodeling companies price out jobs the same way. We partner with you to combine your priorities and desires with our expertise in design, craftsmanship, and with our project management system, which controls costs without sacrificing quality.
We thoroughly assess your project and needs so that the proposal accounts for a total-job view of the work to be done. It includes all costs from plans, design, permitting, and construction through final cleaning.
We work with you on a fixed price basis; the price stated in the Contract Agreement is the final price unless Change Orders are agreed upon by both of us.
Yes, if you request work not covered in the Contract Agreement. Keeping track of Change Orders is very important, especially if you want to avoid "surprise" costs at the end of the project. We make sure the Change Order specifies the change, reflects the original cost of the job, and, most importantly, reflects any additional charges owed or credits due as a result of the change to the original contract.
Stephen and Cathy Doucet are your partners and work with you on your project. We have our own carpenters on staff. Also, we have developed a team of trade craftsmen including master carpenters, licensed plumbers, heat and air conditioning mechanics, electricians, drywall installers, cabinet makers, painters, and flooring installers who perform the work for you. We monitor the work being performed on a daily basis and also inspect all completed work before granting final approval.
